Managing Bipolar Disorder
I do want to make it clear that I am not a licensed professional and as such should not be looked at for medical advice. What I am sharing is simply tools that I utilize or have been recommended by trusted advisors. If you read my blog you will see why it is so important that I follow their advice.
Key Tips I have learned
The MOST important tip I can impart you with is to have a care team. For people struggling with bipolar having a psychiatrist you see on a somewhat regular basis. This important even if you are not on prescription medication. The MOST important tip I can impart you with is to have a care team. For people struggling with bipolar having a psychiatrist you see on a somewhat regular basis. This important even if you are not on prescription medication. The next tip I would share is to have a therapist in addition to a psychiatrist. I would recommend this to anybody, so don't feel to special about that one. The next tip I would share is to be fully honest and open with your care team. There is no point is paying to see somebody you won't be honest with. If you don't want help then don't waste people's time plain and simple. Another tip on this list is going to be DO NOT FUCK WITH YOUR MEDS. You are not a doctor I don't care how much of a God complex you get when manic (if you're anything like me at least). Everytime I started messing with my meds I ended up in a hospital manic or depressed and that is the honest truth. Next one on the list is stimulants and psychedelics. You are not having a spiritual enlightenment. You are becoming manic. To paint an example one time I took acid, and I thought I was seeing the truth of the world. I thought I was reaching a spiritual truth and that ended up with me drowning in Lake Michigan. The truth of it is I like feeling manic but I hate the aftermath. It's not worth it. My last tip is to be aware of the resources available to you. Below this I have listed off a variety of resources you can reach out to for more information and support
